Bought this about two months ago in the highest heat of the North Carolina summer. It cools our 400 sq. ft room with no problem. The vent points upward, so we turn on our ceiling fan (mid-level speed) and it spreads the cool air right over our seating area below. Even if we turned on the AC at the end of a hot day (when the heat index had hit 105 degrees), it would quickly lower the temp in the room to a tolerable level. Can't wait to use the heater feature this winter.

June was hottest June in New Mexico since 60s we were told. We have 18 foot ceilings in our living room -- the AC was easy to install and we use it almost every day. We may buy a smaller one for the bedrooms but for now it cools us and is quik about doing so if we've had it off for awhile.

first week: I love that it cools fairly quick, less than 4 hours to get 85+ room below 75degrees. Box for removing unit. better not take off the outer straps until ready to install. the bottom of the box is seperated AND I LOVED that the box came apart. Came with one carbon filter. I do NOT like: My first day using it the humidity will not reduce. It cooled but felt like everything in room was damp. Damp pillow, damp sheets. The exhaust hose needs to be removed from unit to dehumidify????WHY! I never had a unit make me remove something to make it work. the vent at top doesn't automatically open. I didn't even notice it and someone else pointed it out. VERY HEAVY. this of course needs to go upstairs. Thank goodness for strong person that could lift it upstairs. The timer should be simpler. I had timer before and it was very easy 1-24. The time comes up in military hours. And you have to pay attention. Carbon filter is cheap.

Very easy to operate, the setup tools... I think they could use better installation equipment regarding fitting the hoses to the window. It's very cheap and not thought out well like the in wall ACs.

I researched A LOT of AC's to replace the one we had. We wanted something more powerful that would cool our 15x20 foot room during the hottest part of the day when it's 90 out with 90% humidity. And low and behold it does! We are very happy with this AC, and are also happy that the volume level is good. I mean it's a portable AC machine so you know it's on, but it's MUCH quieter than our old one and we can sleep with it on, even when it turns off and on during the night.
