I did tons of research on this unit and it is highly rated by consumer reports. I also purchased a 5 year warranty and the price I paid for this unit was substantially cheaper than the competition.

Pros: This is a well made unit - our installer said it is built like a tank.

Cons: None

the appliance is good. Wish it had more instructions with it or a recipe book. Very expensive not to have a book

Pros: looks nice. Works well, powerful

Cons: no recipe book, hard to figure out how to use convection.

I bought this as an upgrade from a non convection microwave. Overall this is an excellent quality unit. I am still exploring the uses of the convection side of things but the microwave works great. The convection oven part seems to work well but I don't have enough experience to say if it is better or worse than others.

Pros: Well put together, sensing system actually works, menu steps you through different cooking modes.

saddled with it by previous home owners

While this microwave has many great features, the design is flawed and these issues overwhelm the benefits. Mounting a touch screen design over a cooktop is a recipe for disaster. Half the time the buttons don't work and the othe the microwave keeps trying to self start a defrost cycle. Or it randomly adds time to an ongoing timer. So we have to keep it locked constantly, which defeats the convenience of any of the built in short cuts. We totally understand now why the previous owners wanted nothing to do with it.

Worst Engineered prodcut ever

If I could give it negative stars I would. I've had nothing but issue's with this piece of junk since day 1. Worst design ever, as others have stated, it over heats and gets a mind of it's own. I spend more time unplugging it. The engineers behind this product should all be fired. Do not waste your money on this piece of junk!

Buyer Beware!!!

Do not buy this microwave! It is a piece of junk. This unit was installed in our brand new home. Since day one the microwave beeps and scrolls through options as if possessed. We call Whirlpool, they told us to turn on the fan when ever we cook. Now the handle broke. It is the biggest piece of poltergeist junk ever! Don't waste your money and Whirlpool doesn't even step in when it is brand new!
