I ordered one of the first in December. The vendor did say it was backordered. Even whirlpool didn�t have any. I decided to keep the order and wait. Once the global shipping backlog cleared, I received it in March. The trash compactor is so quiet and efficient, I bought another one for recycles. It�s easy to get replacement bags. We are a household of three and empty it every two days or so. So much nicer than overflowing trash can we had before.

This has been the best decision to make this investment, I have ever made. I live in an apartment and this Trash Compactor is awesome, in reducing the huge bulky heavy trash trips to a dumpster across the way. I am disabled and I would urge anyone in an apartment or disabled to make this investment, it makes it so much lighter to handle...

My first one lasted 29 years. Internals were a type of screw jack mechanism, parts no longer available. This one is a chain, and gear. So if it lasts 29 years I would be shocked, but we can always hope. It was easy to install, and use. Also not sure about the new bag system yet. I moved the rope/bag retainer handles from old model to new one so I can continue to use my paper bags.
