Ordered this machine in May because I was sick of residential washers that have to comply with stupid energy regulations that apparently mean the government has declared war on clean clothes. It works exactly like it should, fills ALL THE WAY WITH WATER, and delivers clean clothes in about 1/2 hour. Now THAT`S energy efficiency! Now then on to appliancesconnection.com. The machine was $850. And that`s not pocket change for me. It was listed as "in stock" when I purchased it on May 19. A month later I was finally informed (only after writing a complaint threatening action through PayPal) that it had been back ordered. I did finally receive it, but not until mid- JULY ! So... Fifty Stars for Speed Queen for making washers that still work as they should. Buy one and thumb your nose at stupid bureaucracy. But if you can find it somewhere else, do yourself a favor and get it there. Negative stars for this site. Just list it as "not in stock" or "available through back order" so the consumer can make an informed decision, guys. I will not be using this site again.

Ordered mine between Christmas and New year`s. So, between the holidays, and the bad weather the East Coast was experiencing, There was a little delay in shipping. Mine showed up January 10th in perfect condition.. This machine is just like the old design of pre 2018 days, Ok, no water level switch, It`s a full tub of water each time. I wash full loads anyway, so this isn`t an issue. If I want, I can add a water level switch pretty reasonably. Hot means HOT on this machine. Not always true on other machines... some BLEND even when placed on Hot. Agitation is aggressive. Soap works properly and clothes are getting clean, and properly rinsed. This is an excellent machine for the person/family that gets DIRTY, GRIMY, GREASEY. No lid lock to cuss, Open the lid any time, for any reason. All functions will stop, including water fill when lid is open. The brake stops the tub quickly when lid is opened, so you won`t get sucked in and killed... ;) This machine is heavy. it weighs about 80 lbs more than the maytag it replaces. It has NOT gone out of balance once. I`ve washed loads that would`ve destroyed the maytag in this Speed Queen with excellent results. Not over large loads, but loads that are easy to get off balance; a single pillow was intentionally washed just to `see`. NO PROBLEM. This machine uses a TRANSMISSION to get the agitation action. The motor hums nicely, because the transmission does the work. No more incessant back and forth with reversing/forwarding the motor. For the typical consumer type use, I suppose the HE type machines will `save` some water, and energy over the life of those machines, (but!! I feel the LIFE of those machines are much shorter anyway, so how much SAVING will there actually be??) For MY use, getting my work clothes clean, the FIRST time, is the main reason I bought this Speed Queen. I have the most insane type dirt imaginable in my `uniforms`. I am a farmer/rancher/mechanic. Heavy insulated coveralls, work jeans, coats, heavy hoodies. Sweat, Grease, Manure, Blood, Dirt; no problem. I ordered mine when they said there was 6 in-stock. And I got it in reasonable time considering the Holidays and weather related delay. Keep in mind these are not `mainstream` machines, and when they say they are `available`, you may have to wait for them to be built and shipped from the factory. They ARE worth the wait.

Summary: Received the washer in good condition with no major marks or dents. Delivery guys were a little clueless on the W/D hookup accessories I ordered along with the Washer/Dryer and I had to argue a bit to get what I paid for. So make sure you get all of your parts! Installation and User Manuals NOT INCLUDED... Regardless, You can download these documents on Speed Queen`s website. Overall, installation for Washer was simple but you should still read installation Manual for some important tips! The Washer does a great job at cleaning clothes! Washer is heavy and feels sturdy enough to take a beating. Positives: +It`s a Speed Queen with traditional agitator and washing motion +Gets my clothes clean and smelling nice again! +Tub fills all the way up with water! +Mechanical timer allows you to control the wash cycle (i.e., start and stop when you want without canceling cycle) +Stainless Steel washtub and mostly steel components (plastic knobs and agitator) +Fairly quiet for an old-fashioned style washer +No locking lid +Simple, yet beautiful appearance and design +Extra rinse can be toggled on/off to save water Negatives: -Plastic water hose connector on washer (everything else is steel, why not this too?) -Water stops filling if lid if opened -Drain hose rubber cover sits loosely on hose and can get dislodged inside of drain! -Installation guide and user manual not included Tips: *For first-ever wash cycle, add a couple quarts of water to tub before starting. *Push drain hose end tightly into drain pipe adapter (rubber cover) to prevent it from popping out of drain *If drain pipe adapter (rubber cover) separates from the hose and gets stuck inside wall, use a steel hanger and fish it out with the hook end.

The title is a quote of what my Wife said when I asked her what she thinks of our new washer. The machine is very quiet and easy to use. It washes the clothes.. The only thing that might be a negative is that there is no "small, medium, large" selection. It`s onre size only for the washer loads. If you are trying to get away from the new high efficiency washers that don`t get your clothes clean this is a perfect solution. If there is a down side it`s that the vendor we purchased from (appliance Connection) would not ship tp my address in Lake Isabella. I really wanted this washer so I had it delivered to my Son`s house 167 miles away. I had to sign for it and it arrived at 9 PM. FedEx, OnTrac, UPS, they all deliver to my door. So as good as the washing machine is the delivery options are horrible.

Tub fills with water for washing and rinsing. First time in 8 years since I have not had to use an extra rinse cycle to get the soap out of my BVDs. Washer gets my clothes clean and rinses completely...without using the extra rinse option. P.S. - Works way better than the 2018 model if you can find one.
