Smart appliances connected via wi-fi are becoming more and more prevalent in homes. These can be controlled with smart phones, tablets, or devices dedicated to interacting with the internet of things such as Nest, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant.
Kitchen appliances are especially rich in smart features. The temperature in refrigerators can be controlled from the palm of your hand or with a voice command. Certain modes including Sabbath can be set and activated. In ranges and wall ovens, pre-heating can be turned on and temperatures can be monitored and adjusted.
Smart features aren’t limited to the kitchen. In the laundry room, washers and dryers can be turned on and off from virtually anywhere and cycles can be chosen with a swipe of your fingers. If there are any technical issues, these can be diagnosed remotely by the manufacturer taking the guesswork out of repairs.
