Sharp Microwaves | A Glimpse of the Future

Sharp | SMD2480CS

This 24" Wave Microwave Drawer features 1.2 cu. ft. total capacity and has an assortment of innovative features. While touch-screens are being implemented in every category of consumer electronics and home appliances, Sharp went the opposite route with this microwave. This top-of-the-line microwave drawer features the Easy Wave Open function for touchless operation. With a simple waving gesture of your hand near the unit, the microwave drawer will open smoothly and provide hands-free access to the interior. The drawer stays closed when you walk by, so children and pets won't inadvertently open it. When you're ready to utilize some of the microwaves functions, a dampened drop-down panel opens at an easy-to-read and operate 45° angle. The stunning stainless-steel built-in design also features integrated airflow control which makes this model perfect for flush mounting in your existing cabinetry. The stylish edge-to-edge black glass design and bright internal LED lighting affords you convenient visibility of the interior while food is being cooked. A brilliant LED indicator light on the exterior offers a visual identifier of different modes and functions during operation. With a large selection of features, including multiple defrost settings, sensor cooking functions programs, gentle heat for more delicate items, and 11 power levels, this microwave drawer is more than just good looks.

Sharp | SMD2470AH

The second option from Sharp is this 24" Microwave Drawer with 1.2 cu. ft. total capacity. While it doesn't have the Easy Wave Open function of the previous model, it features the Easy Touch automatic open and close feature. With a gentle push or pull of the Easy Open Handle or a simple touch of the AutoTouch button, the drawer opens automatically. Furthermore, when your hands are full, a small nudge will cause the microwave drawer to smoothly glide to a closed position. The smooth gliding drawer prevents liquids and food from spilling when accessing them. One of the most attractive features of this model is the concealed control panel that opens to an easy-to-read, easy-to-operate 45° angle and lends itself to a nearly seamless aesthetic. Installing this microwave at an accessible height next to your kitchen work-space, coupled with low sides and a virtual Carousel, make operation and clean-up a breeze. The digital front-mounted touch controls and LCD display offer intuitive control over 20+ cooking, defrosting, and reheating functions.
