The last dehumidifier I used was some years ago and it was like the models of my childhood: a loud, squat, simple machine with an open water bucket in the back. I can't compare the Midea to other "modern" dehumidifiers, but
the change from the past is leaps and bounds ahead!
It's wonderfully easy to operate the settings, including selecting the desired humidity level and using the built-in pump. The water bucket is now contained within the sleek unit, and it's certainly not too heavy to empty
even when full.
With the built-in pump, one can leave the until running while away from home without a pause in operation due to a filled water reservoir. The hose provided for the pump is over 12 feet long, so the unit doesn't have to be
right next to the sink/tub or other drain area: great!
(The uploaded photo shows the pump hose attached, but it's very easy to remove when not in use)
While there is the continuous sound of the blowing fan, there is no noticeable motor sound, expect when the pump is engaged, which only lasts for a few minutes at a time if and when you are using the pump.
My house is like a finished basement space, as it is a single story built into the side of a hill, and it had terrible condensation/mold issues last summer. When I first ran the Midea a few weeks ago, the indoor humidity was
around 75%. Even with a very open house, this single dehumidifier keeps its immediate area between 45-50%, with other areas only about 5-10% higher: wonderful!
The unit is very easy to roll around on its four canister wheels, so I move it daily between spaces. I thought I'd need to get a second one for multiple areas, but this single unit is working so well I might not need to after
all.
Seems like a quality product. Well designed and definitely recommended!
