    Poor Airflow

    I installed the hood and observed very poor airflow on high speed. I verified the short discharge duct to the outside louver was free of obstructions and it is. The airflow is not sufficient to open the plastic louvers on the side of the house. Even with the fan operating on a table - with no discharge duct restriction, airflow is poor. I hope I am able to return the hood without the box - I threw the box away because I figured the low airflow was related to a discharge duct restriction but it was not - unfortunately it took me a month to determine this.

    Bought this for my tenants and just thought they were not used to new high tech appliances! But I was wrong... this fan doesn't move the air at all. You can barely hear the fan change speeds. I buy many fans for my houses.....What the heck, whirlpool????

    like everyone else I am finding these reviews because I looking up what was wrong with the fan...now I know nothing is wrong with it it just doesnt have any power to suck anything. bought for looks and thought it would be fine because of whirlpool name...looks pretty its just a light for stove now. fan is useless

    We just completed a kitchen remodel that included this vent hood. While a nice looking product, nice light, and a simple and effective button layout, the fan is barely useful. I honestly thought that there was a product defect and that the fan was broken, until I read other reviews and see that this concern is shared by many people. To give you an example: when the filter is attached, and the fan is on "High", the exhaust is so weak that it barely moves the external louvers on the outside vent! These piece are plastic and weight virtually nothing, this fan is a joke.

    This hood is terrible! I couldn't find a CFM rating because it moves 0 air. Now I'm being told I can't return without box and must call Whirlpool repairman.It doesn't need repaired it needs to not be sold. Pure junk!

    My wife and I just recently moved into our home. We decided to start in the kithcen with our remomedeling, and we love whirlpool! So we replaced everything. The oven, dishwasher, and fridge(we're happy with everything). Then we got our last piece(the hoodvent) and were excited to complete our project! It looks good, easy install for the most part. Does absolutely nothing! I thought that maybe I had a bad connection somewhere, because you can barely hear the fan when its on. Then I thought, well maybe this is a new quieter model they created! After tedious tinkering and doing some research, I now see that it is simply this model, and the fan just doesn't work!...

    I just bought my first house.The kitchen had mostly whirlpool apps....so the hood stopped working so I fig. buy a whirlpool hood.I picked one up and put it in, turned the power back on and hit the button...nothing, so I rechecked the wiring took the filter off and turned the power back on. The fan was spinninjg but not to fast. It was working the first time. No noise ,no suction, basically it doesn't work. I feel like I was had. Money's tight right now so I guess I have to live with it for now...Bottom line...all the reviews are accurate. Don't buy this product...it doesn't work. I have to get in the habit of reading reviews before I buy not after..

    Bought this a week ago and finally made time to install along with new appliances. Looks great, but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Barely any air movement, which basically renders it useless. Not sure how this even made it out of production. With the name of Whirlpool on it, you would have thought someone would have tested this, and, with a little common knowledge, known this was not going to suffice. I noticed the same response on most of the previous reviews, asking for additional information. Unless someone is going to tell me they will exchange it for a more productive product, it's not worth the time to respond. Thank you.
