Pros vs. Cons: Front Load Washers
I have only been using this appx. 6 weeks, so time will tell the true story. Up until now it is nice (I cried when my older Maytag died because I loved it so much-alternative brands confirmed my disappointment...I went back to Maytag!). The amount of clothing that can get reasonably clean without the issues of the "Eco-Friendly" options that are out there is very good. Work clothes come clean most of the time on the first wash...very soiled items need to be washed a second time. There are not balancing issues-family of 4 with one College athlete and we do about 4-5 loads of laundry a week with this. I use some home made soap, some heavier detergent, and occasionally a Eco friendly brand. All seem to work well with the machine. I like it...wish I would have bought this before I plunked down $1000.00 for a different washer only to find out later it is one of the worst on the market right now (be cautious when going for Speed Queen-the new Eco settings are not recommended). I will be sticking with Maytag.
