MEW9530DS 30" Single Electric Wall Oven with True Convection Oven, Power Preheat, Convection Conversion, One-Touch Self-Clean, Roller Rack and Precision Cooking in Stainless Steel is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from It bakes Bad: It has an annoying high pitch sound when its fan is going. We are testing the thermostat. It may not be accurate. The designer of the face plate opted for elegance instead of ugly bold big black letters on a light background. We have to shine a bright light to read the descrptions of the controls. Good: As we expect in Maytag, it is built like a tank. Nothing breakable about it. We are still learning how to use it. Like all the other sophisticated new appliances, it has many settings. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Baking Oven I bought my Maytag Wall Oven with Convection Air about 3 months ago. I love how it so evenly cooks my baked goods even if I forgot to rotate the baked goods they come out very evenly baked. The cleaning feature is fantastic and cleans to a like new finish inside the cavity. The buttons to set the oven are very intuitive and easy to figure out. I also love that the oven has 3 racks and the racks are very easy to pull out and push in. Overall I haven't found a feature that I don't like. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Loud We replaced an old built-in oven with this Maytag oven a few months ago. I like the overall design and window size. Pre-heating speed is okay, nothing stellar. We haven't noticed a big difference with the convection cooking, but maybe we aren't doing it right. I would give it 3 or 4 stars but it is LOUD. It sounds like a microwave when its turned on. Unfortunately we didn't see a working model before we bought it, so what can you do? Since our kitchen opens up to the living room, its very audible while we watch TV or do anything else. I understand built-in ovens require a fan to push air out, but it is much louder than the 10+ year-old Kenmore oven that it replaced. I will never purchase another built-in oven without hearing and seeing it working first.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The oven whistles! This oven replaces a GE oven, three years old with a malfunctioning control panel that would have cost about 3/4 of a new oven. We opted to go to a Maytag oven and we are glad we did except for one characteristic: When the temperature exceeds 300º, the fan cooling the oven pushes air through an opening that is too small and hence generates an annoying whistling noise that continues for several minutes after the oven is turned off. We have had two repair men look at it and the most reliable of these two told us that there is a design flaw in the oven that CANNOT be fixed. Needless to say we are very disappointed and we will ask the dealer to replace it with another brand unless we hear from you about the problem. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy to use this oven is very easy to use. cooks to the right temperature every time. fast heating up. not noisy like some convection oven settings. the broiler does not interfere with the electronics above it. no fear that they will "burn out" before the oven. the price was right. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not working right from installation I had this installed two weeks ago and right from the start it is not heating to the desired temperature. It gets to a number and then stops, not going up any higher. Having the company who sold it to me come out to look at it this week. Also the hot air blowing out of the bottom of the oven is uncomfortably hot to stand in front of while cooking on the cooktop above it. Almost feels as if it will burn my feet if I am in flip-flops. Not happy

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It'll do Have been using this oven for a few months now. It does what it should. Spacious and I like the option to use convection. It operates fine. The fan is loud and runs for a long time after turning off the heat function. We can hear it throughout the house. Control usage is awkward and takes some getting used to. You have to push the touch controls firmly multiple times and in the right order to activate a function. Lettering for the controls is very small and difficult to see--glasses definitely required . This seems like some designer's idea of fashion over common sense, especially given that, I suspect, most purchasers and users of this appliance are over 50. We cook a lot and this is a PITA that so many manufacturers overlook. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loud This oven's fan is the loudest I have ever heard. It begins when the oven is started and doesn't end until at least 25 minutes after it is turned off. It is beyond annoying. I would give it 0 stars if possible. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
