Although almost twice as expensive as comparable units, anyone who has done research knows that the refrigerant in this unit is far and away more environmentally friendly: it doesn`t deplete the ozone like most others and it has a lower carbon footprint (and costs less electricity). That`s why it`s so common in other countries and naturally, not in the US. That aside, the unit works incredibly well. Sometimes, too well... we have to switch it off and on a few times because even set at a higher "threshold" temperature, it keeps things cold. It`s a bulky unit, but the Wi-Fi technology makes it where you can set it from your phone. On a hot day, when we`re out on a walk, we can turn it on so it`s cool when we get home. Top marks for LG. Expensive. Environmentally-friendly. High performing. User friendly. Meets and exceeds all expectations.

This is the best rated portable indoor ac and most efficient. I previously had a dual hose Whynter 11,000 BTU. It did cool but struggled to kepp the room cool. Since then the government introduced new guidelines for cooling capacity for indoor portable A/C. The new standard is called SAAC VS THE OLD CALLED ASHRAE. The NEW cooling rating takes into account negative traits that these portable acs have. Well back to this LG dual hose ac ITS a lot quitter than my previous ac and thanks to the dual inverter the cost of running these are a lot lower. I have had it running pretty much 24 hours a day for like 2 months no issues. It is quiter ,but does have a slight hissing sound at first i belive it still does to a lesser degree though not a deal breaker. Not noticeable to me unless im looking for it in a dead quiet room. this ac does have dehumidifer which i never use being in a dry climate area. would i buy again???? yes i will

The packaging is the best weï¿½ve seen. Take the straps off and take the box top off. Unit was in service ten minutes later. This A/C sets in our Living Room and cools it, the Family Room, Hall, about 2-3 degrees in fifteen minutes. Is also a little quieter than our previous A/C. We love it.

I`m using this portable a/c in my garage. As you can imagine, it gets very hot and humid here in Florida. I tried 2 other units (a 12k and 14k BTU) which did not perform well. I search on-line for the best portable a/c, and found an excellent video explaining the physics of this style portable a/c, and rated this unit the best. It was more expensive than the others I tried, but well worth the money because of the quality and efficiency. I highly recommend it for my type applications.

This product actually came in quite handy. I have a townhome so cooling it down in the summer is a pain. However this is awesome as it cools down my living room and my kitchen area all at once and also part of the stairs which helps a ton!. I really love it!
