Pros vs. Cons: Portable Dishwashers
This is the only 12" wide compactor available on the market today. I recently bought a house with a panel in a kitchen cabinet where a 12" GE monogram compactor was once installed. The previous owner had tried to replace it when it finally broke down. He found out that GE no longer made this size and had been unable to find a replacement. I couldn`t find any manufacturer that made a 12" compactor. After much searching on the Internet I found that Kushr still made a 12" compactor and that Appliances Connection was a great place to find almost any appliance. It was delivered on-time and in perfect condition. Although it`s designed as a recycle compactor, with care you can use as a regular trash compactor. It not as powerful as a normal compactor and the compaction cycle should be used more frequently. Care should be given to layering dry trash over the wet trash to keep the anvil clean and free of debris. It works well for me and I`m happy with my purchase.
Pros: Simple installation and clean, straight-forward design. Quality stainless steel and well built.
Cons: Cost - As it`s the only one available of this size, the manufacturer can and does demand a rather high price. The stainless steel door and kick panel are considered extras and come at an additional cost.
