The Best Induction Ranges of 2023
First, we love the double oven and range and are happy with our purchase. This is my 2nd GE Profile slide-in, but there were some differences from the previous one that set up some incorrect expectations for me. 1. Controls are sensitive and easy to activate -- you can lock the controls, but so far it appears that they can only be locked when the oven is not in use. We tried locking them while the oven was in use and it ended up canceling the timer. We`ll continue to investigate, but if true, this will end up being are biggest issue. 2. Counters must be at least 36" tall to sit flush -- the oven will not adjust below 36". Most countertops are 35.5" tall, so this will sit higher than most countertops. I didn`t see this in any info prior to purchase, but it is in the owner`s manual. 3. Glass doesn`t extend past the sides over the counter -- the glass on my previous GE slide-in range had about a quarter inch overhang past the sides of the stove which would cover the gap between the range and the countertop. As you can see in the pictures, this one does not have that, which is a bit of a bummer. I loved that feature of my previous slide-in. 4. Vent in back won`t slide under a backsplash -- if you have a backsplash on your countertops that extends through the oven opening, the vent that sticks up from the back of the range will prevent it from sliding all the way to the wall. Most people probably won`t have this issue, but it did affect us, so I thought it was worth mentioning.
