GEH80DFEJSR GeoSpring ENERGY STAR 80 Galloon Capacity Hybrid Electric Tank Water Heater with Red Top and Grey Body, Heat Pump Technology, 100-400F Temperature Range and Electronic Controls is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 149.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Energy Savings and plenty of hot water! I installed the 80 gal. unit three weeks ago. So far we are very pleased with it's performance. It has not shown any fault codes and has worked as expected. I have the heater on Hybrid mode and has provided plenty of Hot water for a family of 6. Last night a bath was given, there were four showers taken, and was still supplying hot water for cleaning of dishes. All within 90 minutes! I plan on putting unit on Heat Pump mode and testing it's performance. I anticipate good things since it is located in a basement heated by a wood stove. Hoping Ge has worked out the bugs with this new generation of GeoSpring water heaters. I will post another review after a few months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GEH80DFEJSR electric hot water heater I purchased this hot water heater the end of March and had it installed about April 10th of this year, 2016. It has been working for 3 months now and been on heat pump mode all that time. Water temp. is set on 125 and we have never yet had any problems. We have plenty of hot water at all times with unit running on heat pump only. I believe it is saving us some money on electric bill. It is hard to tell as electric company raised our rates in April when unit was installed.. April, May and June bills were $8 to $15 less than same month last year and we used less KWH electricity . I do not yet know what the long range use of this unit will be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this water heater !!!! Installed this heat pump hot water heater just over 3 months ago. I already have 3 heat pumps heating and cooling our entire house (pulled oil furnace out which also heated our hot water), so heat pump technology is no stranger to me. This 80 gal hot water heater runs very efficiently and costs so little to produce hot water. At a current rate averaging 40 cents per day, I'd say that we hit a winner I have a meter installed before the water heater so I am able to see the current draw each day. Very happy !!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Simple and Efficient For starters, the fact that you can adjust the temperature on the digital screen is much easier than turning your breaker off, opening the thermostat plate and turning a dial with a screwdriver, which most electric models still require. This water heater is easy to use. And it was easy to set up. It already has 3/4" insulated male threads on top to hook in your pipes. Hooking in the condensation drain is easy because there are already threads on the side for that, too. Really, you just wire it in, plumb in it, pop the filter on, fill it up with water and turn the breaker on. Then it starts running at 120 degrees automatically. It starts in Hybrid mode automatically as well. Simple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eco friendly and Energy efficient I purchased this 80 gallon water heater in the beginning of December, and at first glance it reminded me of Robot (G.U.N.T.H.E.R., which stood for General Utility Non Theorizing Environmental Robot) from "Lost in Space". But this hybrid is super efficient and heats the water fast and plentiful. It has all the bells and whistles for those who would want to keep stats on the efficiency. It is housed in my garage and it is keeping it pretty cool in there. Quite a conversation piece. My utility bill has seen a 40% savings. It may cost you much more than the older ones. Bottom line it will pay for itself.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GE Hybrid Electric Water Heater I installed this in October 2015 as part of our local utility program to change out older electric only models. We received money from our utility and a tax credit that made the unit not cost anything to me except my labor and time to install it. So far so good. The unit is in our garage. The fan does create noise, but we can't hear it in our house if the door is closed. It does cool down the garage significantly with the exhaust for the heat pump unit. This unit is significantly larger than electric only water heaters so be prepared to make some modifications to your plumbing. The condensate line pumps out a large amount of water so make sure that you have a way to drain that moisture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HUGE energy savings Replaced 80 gallon standard electric water heater with this GE hybrid heat pump model. Have had it installed now for about 3 months. The last (2) electric bills (both had full months usage of new water heater on it) were more than 25% less electrical usage than our monthly average and 50% less than our peak months. Water is hot and plentiful and bills significantly lower. Will pay for itself over comparable replacement of previous unit in under two years. If I would have known the savings would be this significant I would have purchased this before the old unit failed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No brainer Just had the install completed on my new water heater. So many potential positives , I can't wait to enjoy. Went from 2 50 gallon tanks to this single 80 gallon unit. Supporting the US economy, saving substantial energy, lots of user interface features. Stoked to pair this with new solar panels in less than three weeks! Big thanks to Puget Sound Energy for recognizing the value of this technology and providing a great rebate incentive!
