Good quality but color isn't right

I just received the table and it is beautiful. Only problem I have, is what is pictured is medium oak but what came to me is so dark I could call it cherry. My whole house has oak in it and this isn't even close to any oak color I have ever seen. They said I can return it with the 30 day no hassle return but why couldn't they have sent me the color pictured and stated? They said that is their medium oak finish well show that then! When you order online that is the only thing you have to go by. Would have given a much higher rating because it is really nice for the price, but it doesn't match and I am so dissapointed.
