Cleveland Iron Works
Cleveland Iron Works has been operating in some incarnation or another since 1872. As Van Dorn Iron Works, they took advantage of the construction boom in the Steel Belt of the American mid-west. From residential fencing, jail cells, skyscraper frames, tanks, and more, they were the go-to company for the iron products. Ever the nimble enterprise, they survived the Great Depression and two World Wars. In 1956, as the portents of the Steel Belt becoming the Rust Belt were on the horizon, they rebranded as Cleveland Iron Works. With the new moniker, they adapted yet again to specialize in manufacturing top-grade home heating stoves.
