PM390 20" Custom Hood Power Module with 390 CFM Centrifugal Blower, 3 Speed Slide Control and Dual 40 Watt Lighting is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product does an overall good job. Cons 1.) The Plastic attachment clips on the filter housing seem cheap. I am concerned that after years of heat and cool from being used they may break and will not allow me to reinstall the filter after cleaning. 2.) From and ergonomically standpoint the on and off switch’s for both the fan and light are difficult to find. 3.) Very difficult to install the filter housing. I actually had the filter housing fall onto the stovetop while in use. Pros 1.) Seams to pull all of the heat and condensation from above the stovetop. 2.) Lights are easy to change out when they go out. 3.) The lighting is sufficient and located correctly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good, but expected more for a Broan I expected this being a Broan to be quieter than my old hood, but it is still loud even at the lowest setting. I also wish the buttons to turn on both the light and fan were either a knob or something that is easier to locate without having to look up into the hood as mine is surrounded by a decorative wooden built in. Lastly, I have mixed feelings about the heat sensor...while for safety it is a good idea for the fan to come on if someone would forget to turn it on while cooking something that may fill the house with smoke, I do not like the fact that if one didn't turn the fan on and it senses heat and comes on even in the off mode that he/she would have to shut it off from the electrical breaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fan This exhaust fan fit perfectly behind our new wood hood enclosure. It has plenty of cfm's to remove all odor and smoke from the stove. It is quiet considering what it does. On high it's a bit noisy but one has to expect that. The installation was quite easy but I am pretty skilled so it may be harder for someone that is not skilled. The light is ample and this fan is 3 times better and quieter than our old fan that was almost as loud as a vacuum cleaner. For a quality kitchen hood exhaust fan at a reasonable price this exhaust fan can't be beat. I would suggest you use this fan behind one of the hood enclosures suggested by Broan. Also in my past experience with Broan they back their warranties. Their customer service is also excellent.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It works well but... Just ordered our third vent. It works well and installs easy enough but after a few years( after monthly cleaning) the grease drips off the motor. Hard to keep clean. Also after 2 years it starts to squeak. So here we are ordering number three. I think were going to see if we can find something else that will fit into our space that's more easy to maintain and hopefully will last longer. Its getting old popping the canopy off and reinstalling. As always the devil is in the details. It does work well just has a short "shelf life" .

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Vent flappers stopped working which allowed cold air to blow inside my kitchen during winter. Vent flappers that open when exiting smoke and close when unit is not on to keep cold or hot air out stopped functioning correctly within the first year. My contractor had to come back to replace them just a week ago. Over the winter months ice was collecting on the vent inside my house from the amount of cold air blowing in. I should have not listened to my contractor and bought a better, more expensive unit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from product review Have not had it long enough to really know about smoke and odor removal as we have been mostly grilling outside. Have used it for steam removal, etc. Would like it to be a bit quieter; not bad on low but noisy on high. And would like better light output but haven't found out if we can put in higher wattage. Difficult to get vent back in place after looking at lights, in fact have not been able to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a real exhaust fan This works great! Finally an exhaust that does not just blow the steam around. You can even see it sucking the steam toward it. Mine has an angled duct going outside and still works great. It was installed in a new construction home so I cannot speak to ease of installation but I did not hear any complaints from builder that it was a problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value I chose this system over others that were much more expensive. Air flow is very good and sound levels are acceptable. The rated light wattage was not very high, but by substituting CFL lights, I could stay within the wattage limitations and increase the light output. We've had this in operation for two months now and we are very satisfied.
