XO has been one of Europe’s go-to brands when it comes to kitchen ventilation. For over three decades they’ve built an unimpeachable reputation for producing range hoods with equal parts quality and style. Now they’re bringing that stellar pedigree to the realm of undercounter refrigeration. We’ll have a look at a sampling of the new XO undercounter wine coolers and beverage centers in a moment. First, let’s review the aspects that tie them together.

Features Common to All New Xo Undercounter Wine Coolers and Beverage Centers

New Xo Undercounter Wine Coolers and Beverage Centers: Dimensions

XO’s undercounter refrigeration units are available in several iterations depending on your needs. However, there are certain qualities and features that are common to all models. For instance, every unit is 34 3/32 inches tall and 23 1/4 inches deep. This makes them easy to install flush underneath standard counters. They also have zero clearance hinges, which allow doors to swing open wide without interference from other units or surrounding cabinetry. The hinges and dimensions together make it possible for you to use several pieces to construct a highly customizable undercounter refrigeration set-up.

Please note that hinge location (i.e. right or left) is set at the factory and the doors are not field reversible. Customers will need to choose the hinge side at the time of ordering

Positive Fan Air Circulation

Another aspect that all of these fridges share is positive fan air circulation, also known as forced air circulation. Normally, compact refrigerators have a cold plate in the rear to keep the cavities cool and merely depend on air pressure for cold air to reach the front. The XOs have a fan that continuously circulates cold air around for uniform coolness. It also has the added benefit of preventing drastic temperature fluctuation when fridge doors are open. The fan also works in conjunction with an activated carbon filter which keeps the air fresh.

Intuitive Controls

All functionality is controlled by an intuitive bank of buttons. A power switch will obviously turn the unit on and off. You’ll be able to select how you want the interior lighting to function. For instance, it can turn on when you open the door and off when you close it, or it can turn on when you open the door and dim after a few seconds. You’ll be able to precisely change the temperature by one-degree increments. Finally, you can activate a Sabbath/eco mode which will disable all lights and displays and regulate the compressor so it doesn’t automatically activate when the door is opened. This saves energy and allows people of certain faiths to adhere to religious obligations.

Alluring Aesthetics

There are additional affectations that distinguish these compact fridges from others on the market. XO undercounter refrigerators will showcase your wines, beers, and other beverages with élan. Their interiors are illuminated with side LED lighting in three alluring colors – Midnight Blue, Theater White, or Honey Amber. Each model includes a sophisticated “Designer” handle and a more utilitarian but no less attractive “PRO” handle. Now that we’ve dispensed with what all the new XO undercounter wine coolers and beverage centers have in common, here are a few unique models.

XOU24WDZGS 24-Inch Freestanding or Built-In Dual Zone Wine Cooler

This wine cooler looks very handsome built into kitchen cabinetry. Conversely, it has finished sides so you have the choice to install it as a freestanding unit right by a dining room table. Its compact design belies the cleverly designed interior. The ability to alternately position (see the picture above), this fridge is able to fit an impressive 46 bottles. The control panel is located beneath the second row from the top. That creates a seal giving you true dual-zone temperature control.

On the top two shelves, you can set the temperature at between 41 and 50 degrees F for your Rieslings or pinot grigios. At between 50 and 64 degrees F, you’ll find a perfect home for cabs and red Grenaches in the bottom four shelves.  Full telescoping racks give you easy access to your wines. They also are designed to absorb shock to reduce vibration, letting particulates settle and promote aging. This, along with the UV blocking low-e glass on the door will keep your wines in peak condition.

Of course, not everyone’s an oenophile. That’s why this XO French door beverage center offers the best of all worlds. The right and left sides have independent temperature controls. The right compartment is the wine cooler. It has a pretty wide temperature range of between 41 degrees and 64 degrees F. You’ll have an ideal place to store reds or whites [Remember: Red wine is best stored at around 62 degrees F while whites are best at around 49.].

The right-side wine compartment has a respectable capacity of 21 standard bottles. On the left side it gets significantly chillier. With a temperature range of between 34 degrees and 50 degrees F and room for up to 60 12 oz beverage cans (60 standard beer bottles if you remove one of the shelves), you’ll never want for a frosty drink. The left fridge also has a wine compartment on the bottom for the vintages of Dionysus that like it a little colder. It has room for three bottles so you can stock some Veuve Clicquot for a celebration or gewürztraminer for a whimsical evening.

XOU24ORSL 24-Inch Freestanding or Built-In Outdoor Refrigerator

New Xo Undercounter Wine Coolers and Beverage Centers: XOU24ORSL 24-Inch Freestanding or Built-In Outdoor Refrigerator

XO has you covered when you want to take things outside. This outdoor refrigerator can be installed into a kitchen island or just placed in a central location on a patio or deck. The façade is clad in gleaming stainless steel which fits its robust construction. Like all outdoor refrigerators, it should be taken inside during cold winters and shouldn’t be in continuous direct sunlight in temperatures between 41 to 90 degrees F. Otherwise, though, this durable little beast can take virtually anything the elements might throw at it.

Just because it’s relegated to the outside doesn’t mean this refrigerator is any less capable than its indoor counterparts. It has a versatile temperature range of between 34 degrees and 50 degrees F. In its default configuration, it can hold up to a staggering 145 12 oz beverage cans or 84 standard beer bottles. I say “default” because there are 15 different height positions for the glass shelves. Consequently, it can accommodate anything from a large bowl of fruit salad, to upright bottles of wine, to six-pack of beer bottles. So whether you’re entertaining a large gathering of friends or just sipping a cold drink in your backyard, this XO outdoor refrigerator will be an indispensable addition to your outdoor living area.
