As autumn begins and winter creeps ever closer, the colder weather threatens to deter us from enjoying our back yards and patios. But not every party and gathering you host in the next couple of seasons has to be an indoor affair. Let Appliances Connection help you keep things cozy with the best outdoor patio heaters and fire pits.
Our favorites in the outdoor heating are dominated by two brands, the first of which is Lynx. Founded in 1996 with the goal of innovating outdoor grills, Lynx expanded into developing and improving on everything you could need to have a great time cooking outside, all year round.
Their built-in infrared outdoor natural gas patio heater is designed for permanent installation and provides 46,000 to 53,000 BTUs of warmth. All 90 inches of it is full stainless steel construction, built with a robust commercial aesthetic and has improved wind resistance. Forward-thinking technology including a polished “double surface” reflector intensifies heat output and distributes it more evenly from the center “hot spot” across its full 24-foot radius.
This heater is remotely operated from a wall switch, and comes with direct spark ignition with auto re-light for safety, preventing gas leaks.
If you would rather sit around a roaring fire, then Lynx also scratches that itch with their 44-inch liquid propane square “Ice ‘N’ Fire” fire pit. Fueled by liquid propane through a nautilus shaped burner, this fire pit can reach up to 65,000 BTUs, so you and your friends can leave the jackets in the closet. The fire is in the center of a generous 4-foot diameter table, and ready to roll on heavy-duty caster wheels.
Don’t roll this table into storage when the temperature picks back up, though! When the time comes you’re more interested in keeping things cold, you can fill the pit’s 30-quart stainless steel bowl with ice to turn it into a mobile, communal drinks cooler.
The next outdoor appliance brand we would like to highlight is Napoleon. Also focused mainly on grills, Napoleon is also an industry leader in fireplaces, outdoor kitchen storage, and related accessories for outdoor living, including the following products.
Their Bellagio Series Outdoor Patio Heater stands 84 inches tall and is fueled with liquid propane. This makes it portable, unlike the Lynx – but it also doesn’t get as toasty, topping out at still very cozy 45,000 BTUs. It’s made of stainless steel, and the protective screens allow a full 360-degree view of the 4-foot flame producing all the heat you’re enjoying.

Napoleon also offers their own fire pit in the Kensington Round Patioflame Table. Made of a hand-crafted rust-proof aluminum, this pit is fueled with propane, but comes with a natural gas conversion kit. The fire can reach heats up to 40,000 BTUs, and you can watch it dance in the reflection of the topaz glass ember bed included with every model.
Made of lightweight aluminum, it’s easy to move around your outdoor space, and with its rustic bronze finish and ornate detailing, it’s sure to become a conversation piece wherever you decide to place it. And when you don’t need to bring the heat, you can use the included lid to transform it into a full 50-inch diameter table.
