Downdraft Hoods
Whisk away smoke and odors with the innovatively designed downdraft hoods. Unlike obviously visible conventional range hoods that are wall mounted or hang from the ceiling, downdraft hoods are installed flush into cooking surfaces, such as cooktops and ranges. They have a slim telescopic configuration that rises up when air needs to be vented and retracts back down when not in use.
The compact size of these downdraft hoods makes them great for kitchens with limited spaces. They can be integrated into islands, peninsulas, and custom layouts. Finishes include stainless steel, black, and white finishes to complement existing appliances. Width sizes range from a small 30 inches up to a larger 48 inches width. Many downdraft range hoods are ducted to thoroughly vent air from the inside of the kitchen to the outside. If such installations aren't made possible in your home, a few are convertible. This convertible venting recirculates air through the filters, along with the option for ducting. Internal blowers are located in the hood itself, making it easier to install and access if needed. Hoods with external blowers have blowers mounted on the outside of the house, thus being quieter when ridding the kitchen air of excessive smog. Blower levels can be adjusted using the fan speed or variable control on select models. Find one that matches your culinary needs to create a comfortable cooking experience. Extraction rates range from 370 CFM up to an impressive 1600 CFM of power. With some being equipped with a temperature sensor, you won't have to even worry about accidentally setting off the smoke detector. Temperature sensors detect high heat and will automatically turn on to adjust the speed blower in according to room temperatures in the kitchen.
