Washing dishes is my absolute least favorite chore, so I spent a lot of time researching the most reliable, high quality dishwasher with a hard-food disposer (thoroughly rinsing dishes before putting them into the dishwasher counts as "washing dishes"). There really aren`t that many options out there that also look good in a modern kitchen. One of these options was this Bertazzoni dishwasher. There is a noticeable dearth of reviews online regarding Bertazzoni dishwashers, so I felt like I was taking a risk getting this one as I really did not want to be calling in a repair person regularly in addition to having to hand wash my dishes if the dishwasher broke down. After using this dishwasher everyday (sometimes multiple times a day) for 6 months, no repair person has been called and I have no regrets spending the $$$ on this appliance. PROS-- + Fits quite a bit. I can fit all my dishwasher safe cookware, silverware, and eating utensils in one wash. + Cutlery tray. I have the utensil basket removed so I can fit in all my cookware on the bottom shelf. + Adjustable top shelf. Allows me to fit taller cookware on the bottom shelf + Very quiet. I live in a one bedroom apartment in NYC and I can`t hear it once I leave the kitchen area + The top shelf of the dishwasher came with a bent roller, and while it didn`t affect the performance of the dishwasher in anyway, it was annoying to look at. After contacting Bertazzoni, they sent a whole new top shelf, not just a new roller, within a week or two to replace it. + Looks great in my stainless steel kitchen - of all my appliances, this dishwasher and my refrigerator (a liebherr) have the least amount of fingerprints on cleaning day. CONS-- - Even if you press the "EXTRA DRY" button, dishes still have some water on them unless you open the door right when the cycle is complete to let out the steam.
