Anatomy of Wall Ovens Glossary

Thermal Fuse - a cutoff which uses a one-time fusible link. Its main function is to protect the oven from overheating. It's used as a safety device to disconnect the current to the heating element in case of malfunction.

Oven Temperature Sensor Probe - is a device that is also known as a thermocouple or RTD that provides temperature measurement through electrical signal. It is usually located at the back of the oven and used as a temperature detector of the oven. 

Relay Control Board:  - the main function of a relay board is to control voltage going to the bake element or a surface element based on signals from the control board. 

Oven Igniter - located beneath the oven cavity. In most cases the oven bottom panel can be removed for access to the oven igniter. Its main function is to turn on the oven, so the baking process can start. 

Glow Bar -  usually the igniter for a gas oven that heats up to ignite the gas for the oven burner.

Oven Door Lock Assembly - By locking the door during self-cleaning, it prevents accidental burns. The door automatically unlocks when the oven cools to a safe temperature. 

Outer middle door panel  - It provides Precise control over cooking functions and accurate temperature displays

Broiler element - usually at the top of the electrical oven, provides intense heat for broiling.

Bake Element - is almost always at the bottom of an electric oven, provides heat for baking. 

Glass Touch Electronic Controls  - it is used to change the temperature quickly with little effort. 

Hidden Bake element - a layer hidden beneath the oven floor, leaves a smooth interior surface that is easy to clean 

Convection Fan Cooking - this system uses a fan to circulate heat evenly throughout the oven to seal in flavor and juices. 

Self-clean/ Steam Clean option - Easily cleans using only heat and water without usage of any harsh chemicals or cleaners. It is mostly used to clean the light spills on the bottom of the oven.

Temperature Management Sensors  - This system allows you to have an even temperature throughout the oven and monitors heat levels. Can turn on proper cooking element to ensure optimal heat and delivers consistent baking even on multiple racks.
