Whirlpool WDF730PAYM Reviews & Ratings

WDF730PAYM Gold 24" Full Console Built in Dishwasher with 6 Wash Cycles, Quiet 55 dBA, 15 Place Settings, Heavy Duty Wash and Energy Star Rated in Monochromatic Stainless Steel is rated 4.2756 out of 5 by 127.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very satisfied. Great for the price I paid. We upgraded from a rather old Whirlpool. Have had it for a few days now and am very satisfied with the performance. Quiet, cleans great, everything comes out spotless and dry and has great features. So far have been using the sensor clean option. Works perfectly. The build isn't as solid as our old Whirlpool, that is why I gave it a 3 for Quality. Some other models are quieter than this, but I have no issues with the noise level. It's plenty quiet for me. I got mine from hhgregg for a great price, and their service was very good too. Bought in the evening, and it was in my kitchen the next morning at 8:00! So far very satisfied with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet, Sturdy, Efficient We bought two of these for a house of 13 men (Catholic religious community) they are much quieter and clean better than their predecessors. The trade off for low noise and low water usages seems to be very long cycles, but this is not a problem. I was skeptical about the utensil basket on the door rather than on the bottom rack, but it cleans very well and leaves more room on the lower rack. We had to remove the covers for the utensil baskets because our flatware did not fit through the holes, so we have to be a bit more careful about keeping the spoons from nesting together, but overall we are very satisfied with these dishwashers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I really dislike the utensil basket. +I think this dishwasher looks great and seems to do a good job cleaning. It is less noisy than my previous dishwasher but still a little loud. My only serious complaint is the silverware basket. I find it totally unusable on the door, so I hook it onto the lower rack when loading and then switch it to the door for washing. My silverware doesn't fit in a lot of the slots, a smaller number of slots are bigger and those do work. When I have several spatulas, tongs, beaters, etc., they won't all fit in the very narrow open space. I dislike using my upper rack for utensils, but I have to a lot of the time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Low quality product with lots of problems After the first month the diswasher started to leak. Kitchen hardwood and a rug were wet. A service technicial told that the polymer frame/tube is a little bent and straightened it. The diswasher worked fine for 3 days and started to leak again. Heat cycling (during normal diswashing) caused the frame bent again, now from another corner. The same service technician came in and changed a door gasket and a door lock. After that I haven't seen leaks any more. Then the door became really creaky. I put a vegetable oil drop to both hinges and the creaky sound dissapeared but the door became really floppy. Like there was no spring force at all. The lowest quality diswasher I've seen so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product This dishwasher replaced a older Whirlpool unit. This new one is a lot quieter, and has more feature like higher temp cycle and drying options. I like the tall tub. It holds more dishes. The wash cycle is odd because there are a lot of starts and stops. the wash cycle is long and in non-heat drying leaves the tub and dishes quite wet. But they are clean and the unit is quite. The steel front feels durable. The hinge and spring return on the door appears weak. the door does not spring up. I have adjusted to no avail. All in all a good system and would purchase again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a very good dishwasher at a reasonable price. We are pleased with this dishwasher. It is quiet and easy to use and load. We have large plates and bowls and they fit well on the lower rack and in the prongs. It is a simple, attractive design. We like that the controls are on the face of the washer instead of hidden on top of the door/under the counter. Our only issue...and it's not been major and we may have just overloaded it...is the silverware holder is on the door and we have had a few knives and spoons come out dirty when everything else in the washer is perfectly clean. Overall we are very pleased with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product Review We bought our dishwasher 6 months ago. Truly believe it has cut down on the number of loads thanks to the great deaign allowing more dishes to fit in. Also believe it has cut our energy bill. On occasion we noticed a few plates not coming completely clean and we need to take a rag over them and re-wash, which is the only negative I have. These are dishes we even rinsed before loading. My husband even ensured the filter was clean so I'm not sure what causes it. Again, it has only happened 3 times and otherwise we have been happy with the dishwasher.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice dish washer, but silverware bucket needs upgrading I'm happy with this purchase and appreciate my new dish washer. Whirlpool continues to maintain it's reputation as a provider of quality appliances. What I don't like about this model is the silverware bucket; It's hooked onto the door, so you cannot put silverware in unless you push the bottom rack in (inconvenient when hands are full of dishes/silverware). So, I pulled the bucket off the door and put it IN the bottom rack to rectify my dislike. However, the bucket is so strangely made, that silverware actually falls sideways into the bottom and nearly every wash load I have to fight to get something out of the silverware bucket that's stuck! Also, for some reason, this dishwasher smells badly inside very quickly (my old one never did!)
