GTWN4250DWS 27" 3.8 DOE cu. ft. Capacity Top-Load Washer With HydroWave Quiet Agitator Wash System, 16 Wash Cycles, Rotary Electronic Controls in White is rated 4.180371352785146 out of 5 by 3,393.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well enough but... I don't like how low the water levels are with the water-saving feature. When it's 'washing' what you see is wet clothes being swashed around in the drum and not much washing. Without enough water for the clothes to move around in, my clothing gets very, very twisted up. By the end of the wash, I am struggling to under tangle them from each other and from underneath the paddles in the wash tub. I have already damaged some items doing so as they were so tied up, it was nearly impossible to get them out. I wish I had ask more questions about this feature as I would not have chosen this model had I known how little water is really used in a wash.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I really like this washer, except the agitator I love all the options on this washer, it seems to clean clothes effectively. It is my first HE washer. I was not thrilled that my husband bought one with an agitator, and even less happy when I discovered any sweatpants/sweatshirts with a tie get wrapped around and pretty much "tied" to the agitator. And it's a pretty deep washer so I spend some time trying to free the clothes when this happens. Other than that I have no complaints, it is really big, and gets the clothes clean. It is not quiet, but I really don't care about any noise from it. It also spins the clothes very dry, they take about 2/3 of the time to dry compared to my old washer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied! I researched washers/dryers for about 3 months before I decided to purchase this one. My previous GE washer finally stopped working after 17 years. This one is very quiet. I had to get used to the low water but I know how load to load it in order to get the clothes fully submerged and clean. I also bought the matching dryer and I am very pleased with them and feel that with all the research, I got what I was looking for in the GE brand. I didn't want an HE washer and this one doesn't say it is until you look at the papers that comes with the washer (it's not on the machine), but it rates better than most of the HE washers that I researched.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just What I Wanted After reading lots of reviews of washers, I decided on this one. Top loading with the ability to decide what I want in terms of water level, etc. Don't know how it does it, but it gets the clothes, sheets, towels, etc. very clean with rather calm agitation. Also, like that you can add something you forgot after the machine has started. It does a great job of spinning the clothes so there is less time in the dryer. However, I found that if I leave permanent press clothes in the washer overnight so that they get more dried out, they become permanently pressed with wrinkles. Can be fixed with an iron, but I won't do that again. Pretty quiet...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor performance I have had GE washers before, this one is far below my expectations. For a small load there is not nearly enough water to saturate the clothes, they are barley damp. Even if I put the load sensor on medium there is not enough water. To get the clothes clean I have to use the highest setting for the laundry to wash enough to get clean. After spinning the clothes are so wrinkled they need ironing before they go into the dryer. Also the machine shuts off if I open the lid before the cycle is finished. I am truly disappointed in the machine and equally disappointed in the GE refrigerator I purchased a few years ago. I will not buy another GE product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some praise, some complaints! Complaints are the same most people have with these newer machines (all brands). Biggest one: too stingy with water, even with Max setting. Might be a problem with heavily soiled items. When I washed a mattress pad, the amount of water on Max (more than on Auto-Fill) was so skimpy it was all absorbed by the pad. I had to manually add buckets of water to have enough. Beeping sound when lid is up while loading clothes and/or detergent is annoying. Excellent spin cycle, however, means shorter drying time. And I like having several water temperatures, not just hot or cold. I've had good luck with GE and my research found it's no worse than any others.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed! I bought this because it seemed closest to the GE Profile model I had for 14 years and was very pleased with. This spins so violently and is so noisy on high speed spin, I'm expecting it to blast into orbit. I'm afraid to use the cycles offering a high speed spin. If you pause or stop the machine to add forgotten items all the water drains and you must start all over. The same occurs if you soak clothes first, requiring the use of more water. It claims to be an energy saving washer and have so many options, but it is actually very inflexible and I'm using more water than with my old washer. In general, I think it is a very poor or defective design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy So Far Seems to be a good washer so far. We bought and installed within one hour. I like the settings and the option to add water. Not just the automatic weight level. It has lots of different settings for clothing types or additional items. The only thing I don't like so far is the lid is magnet sensor so if you use softener you will have to get water from a sink or wait till the washer fills to get water to add to the softener compartment in the agitator. It would be nice to be able to push the button for the lid to get water. I wanted a plain washer. This fits the bill. I traded from a front loader. They are a total waste of time and money.
