Slim design. Fits into your refrigerator door. Reduces chlorine taste. Includes pitcher and one filter.
Product Description:
Slim design. Fits into your refrigerator door. Reduces chlorine taste. Includes pitcher and one filter.

Details:
For crisp, clean drinking water in small family or single-person households, Brita offers their Slim Pitcher with Filter. The filter reduces impurities and harmful substances from tap water and holds approximately 40 liquid ounces. The slim pitcher fits neatly into many refrigerator doors, enabling users to maximize shelf space.

Certified by the National Sanitation Foundation International, Brita water filters contain a mesh screen to catch sediment and particles as tap water flows through into the pitchers basin. Brita pitchers employ an ion exchange resin with activated carbon granules to draw mercury, zinc, copper and cadmium from tap water, trapping these harmful elements inside the filter. Brita filters eradicate up to 98 percent of the lead found in tap water while significantly reducing other impurities and dangerous bacteria including cryptosporidium, giardia, and benzene. Additionally, the odor and flavor of chlorine are removed from drinking water. Brita filters should be replaced every 40 gallons or after two months of use. Replacement filters can be purchased separately. Wash the Slim Pitcher by hand in lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Brita offers a limited 90-day warranty on pitchers in the event of manufacturer defects. The pitcher weighs two pounds upon shipping.

Brita 42629 Reviews & Ratings

42629 Slim Pitcher with Filter is rated 4.5722 out of 5 by 353.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too small for my needs, probably great for others. This was shown to me as the replacement or new version of my old Brita pitcher (I think it was called a FridgeMate or something like that; it was meant to be slim enough to fit in the fridge door and I bought it c. 1998), but this one is WAY smaller. Which is actually really hard to tell just by looking and I no longer remember (nor did I measure) the capacity of my old one. I tend to fill a bunch of water bottles with filtered water and keep those in my fridge, car, on my desk, etc. It takes 3.5 fills of this pitcher to fill 6 of my water bottles. With the slowness of this type of water filter, that takes forever. Too small for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this! We just switched to the Brita Pitcher about a month ago. I have a bad back and am a single parent and lugging all that bottled water was killing me! I also hated all the water bottles all over the house. This pitcher has saved me so much money in such a short time and the water tastes great! I have reusable water bottles that I fill up with this water and the kids never ask for juice! They just grab a water bottle and go and no half drunken water bottles cluttering the house anymore! As much as we drink water I might have to upgrade to a bigger pitcher but after trying it, its the only way to go!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great if you're looking for good water on the cheap. I'm a student who lives in an area with very bad tasting tap water. I'm also a heavy drinker who needs regular fluids but I often go without if I'm not satisfied with what is available. I found this little pitcher on sale at a local store so I picked it up and I have to tell you I'm glad I did. The water tastes excellent and it takes very little space in a fridge shared with 5 other college students. Also, the filter lasts much longer than advertised. The reason I docked a star was only because it's made of fairly low quality plastic and if someone just thought a bit harder they could have come up with a better design that would have fit more water without taking up any more fridge space.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I take this everywhere it's great to show up outdoors, in the van...with this...I can have filtered water any place I go! and people ask me questions...why are you carrying that? what is it? so I get a chance, as an environmentalist, to explain the damage plastic bottles do to the environment....that having your own cup and filter keeps hard-to-degrade bottles out of the trash, trash trucks, and landfills. and...less water drained out of my springs and aquifers surrounding me, which lowers the water level, causing algae blooms and me not being able to swim or kayak on our spring-fed rivers... a win win win

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small size, okay lid I purchased this Brita pitcher for use in an apartment I share with 5 other girls. I chose this size because it seemed like a good value at the time (I purchased it for about $11.00 on Amazon). Also, I figured with so many people sharing the fridge, this would conserve space for all of our food. However I was somewhat disappointed while using the product. While pouring the water, the lid and entire top section tends to slip out even when there is no water in it. This is sort of annoying and I wish I had purchased another filter with a more secure top section instead.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate this pitcher I have been a Brita user for more than 20 years and this pitcher design does not work. The filter keeps floating up and dislodging so that the unfiltered water in the top leaks into the filtered reservoir. I have tried putting less water in to filter, I have tried being patient in letting the water filter through but over 70% of the time when I open the top of the pitcher the filter is not seated in the pitcher like it should be and if I don't check it every time, the unfiltered water just runs through into the bottom of the pitcher

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very handy! I've got the dispenser that i keep filled in the fridge. I recently purchased an espresso machine that has a water resevoir that I have to keep filled. I would get a large cup to fill from the dispenser and fill the resevoir. I saw a free offer for the slim pitcher at my local grocery store and thought this would be the perfect solution. I keep the Slim filled and when i need to top off the espresso machine I've always got filtered water right there when I need it and it sits in the corner of the counter taking up very little space!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not Built To Last I bought this product to keep in my smaller sized fridge at college. I only got about two and a half months use out of it because the side of the pitcher cracked. I still think that my roommate had something to do with it, but I though with the Brita name it would have been a little more durable. I loved the water the pitcher produced though because it tasted great and I knew I was helping the environment. I'm not sure if this is the best option for a college dorm, but it's definitely great for small households.

What exactly is an Extended Service Plan?
An extended service plan is generally an extension of your original manufacturer's warranty. Most manufacturers warranty their products to be free from defects for up to one year from the date of purchase. This warranty virtually guarantees you that if your newly purchased product fails, the manufacturer will protect you from the high costs of replacement parts and labor necessary to repair your product. Extended service plans lengthen your product's coverage for up to an additional 60 months (5 years) to insure you get years of performance satisfaction from your newly purchased product.
How is this different than the manufacturer's warranty?
A manufacturer's warranty usually offers limited coverage for a limited time, with parts and labor carrying separate lengths of coverage. For example, a common manufacturer warranty of a product might cover a consumer for one full year on parts defects but only 90 days on the high cost of labor involved to change those parts. Extended service plans provide comprehensive, long term, even length coverage. This means that should your product fail within your plans coverage time frame, both parts and labor costs are covegrey.
How do I buy an Extended Service Plan?
Extended Service Plans can be purchased along with your product online, or via our toll free number.
Can I renew my Consumer Priority Service extended service plan?
Yes, service plans are renewable and must be submitted 30 days prior to the original plans expiration. Please contact a sales representative to discuss your renewal options.
What should I do if I need extended service?
Our extended service providers offer an easy to use interactive form online which you may use to request that they initiate a claim on your product. Your other alternative is to call the toll-free number on your extended warranty card or email and have a qualified representative make this request for you with the information you will provide. We believe that our claim initiation request process is the absolute best our industry has to offer. It is designed for simplicity and speed.
Who will perform the service on my product?
Our company works with over 11,000 authorized service professionals. Each technician is extensively trained by the respective manufacturers to provide service on your products. Authorized technicians must complete annual and bi-annual continued education exams in addition to being well versed in manufacturer supplied update bulletins to ensure their level of expertise is as current as the new products which come to market. We urge our customers to provide feedback regarding their experiences which we later use to insure that the level of service we are expected to provide is exactly the level of service you receive.
May I transfer my extended service plan to another person?
Our service plans are 100% transferable. If you would like transfer ownership of the covegrey product along with its coverage, we require that the request be supplied in writing. For assistance please contact a Representative. Please have all of the new owner's information at hand when requesting a transfer.
Will I have to pay a deductible or any other "hidden costs"?
Generally, the amount of a deductible is almost always proportional to the amount of the premium charged. In order to have a lower deductible, even as low as $0, the plan holder would generally have to agree to a higher premium. For those who want lower premiums, they must agree to a higher deductible. Our extended service plans carry a $0.00 deductible along with low premiums. This means that with an extended service plan there are no high upfront costs and they are committed to cover 100% parts and labor costs on any authorized claim.
When does my warranty start?
Depending on the type of coverage you own, an extended warranty begins at the conclusion of the shortest portion of the manufacturer’s warranty. If the manufacturer’s warranty was 90 day labor and 1 year parts, the extended warranty would begin on the 91st day and continue for the duration of the warranty period. All replacement, commercial and accidental plans begin on the date of purchase.
Why does my plan say "under $1000"?
Some plans carry a dollar value on them. This means that your product's purchase price, excluding tax, delivery and accessories is below the listed price on the contract. It's simply a classification based on the price of purchase of the product under warranty.
What does an accidental plan cover?
If you have added Accidental Coverage to your plan, this plan shall cover unintentional damages as a result of: impact, liquid damage or unintentional physical damage. Accidental Coverage does not cover intentional damages of any kind to the covered product or losses due to theft. Accidental Coverage does not cover willful damage, misuse, damage due to neglect, drops over 6 feet, fire damage or full immersion in water.

Accidental Coverage does not cover damage caused by the use of a product in a way the manufacturer never intended. Coverage for this plan shall begin 30 days after the date of purchase of the covered product.
Is my service plan worldwide?
All plans carry a worldwide option at no additional charge. Contact a sales professional for further details.
Who do I contact with further questions?
Please contact a sales professional at 1-800-299-9470.
