Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great I have tried two kinds of Brita filters: the one you put on the faucet and the pitcher. I couldn't use the faucet one anymore because the faucet wasn't sturdy enough. I tried the pitcher. It was wonderful. Until I started to get the carbon flakes with my second filter and the water tasted funny. I told Brita and they sent me a complementary advanced filter. It is great so far! No more carbon flakes in the water or the reservoir and the water tastes amazing! At first I was worried because the water came out a charcoal gray, but after dumping the first load, it was clear. I flushed it twice more just to be certain. I would recommend this pitcher.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product but tricky to install We have used our Brita for more than a year and have enjoyed the quality and taste of the water. The only thing that can some times be a little tricky is installing the filter in the pitcher. It looks like you can just drop it right in but you have to align the slots correctly to get a comfortable fit. I'm use to the product so it comes easy to me but any of my family or friends that are trying to help me by changing it when needed always get frustrated and wonder how it can be so difficult. Overall I have enjoyed the use we get out of the Brita filter

Convenient to buy filters I have used different products and styles of water purification; although filling a pitcher for water purification is slightly cumbersome, I've settled for this system. The bottom line is to transport water from the kitchen sink, from the faucet through the filter, and into the pitcher. My water here in Golden Valley is good, but my son has a more refined taste, and always drinks filtered water. Since the percentage of the body is water, might as well have adequate input. As you can infer, I have a lot of time on my hands. Thank you, Bill.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from new & improved design = reduced effectiveness The new design is more convenient because of the easy to grasp top which makes it easier to change. the water flows much faster through the filter as well, which is nice from a convenience standpoint, but terrible from a water filtration standpoint. The result is water that tastes like slightly improved tap water. So I'll be returning these and I think I'll switch to a large tank filtration system with a mineralizer. Thanks Brita for being the catalyst in this change. Sorry I won't be one of your customers anymore. Bad design...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Product! This made my tap water taste amazing! My tap water tastes very bad due to a bad water softener. After using the Brita it tastes amazing (even better then my schools newest design of elkay water-bottle filler drinking fountains!) I know that my water is being filtered because of the carbon in the top tray, it is an unsightful thing but I know my water is being filtered when I know that isn't passing through. If you are using this remember to push down TIGHTLY to reduce any leaks and make sure your water is filtered properly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New filters are excellant I received a new type pitcher filter from Brita after writing about the high amount of carbon flecks the old filters were leaving. Used the new filter and even purchased a 4 pack and have used 2 of those to be sure the new filter was an improvement. I have to say I really like the new filter. Both for not having to soak the new filter and no fleck of carbon in the pitcher. I purchased the pitcher years ago to use in my coffee maker. But use the filtered water for vaporizer and drinking also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works! To make a long story short, we ended up with a non-Brita filter to use in our water pitcher. Right a way there was an issue with the water running around the filter. And what water did go through the filter went through much faster than our usual Brita, telling me that it wasn't filtering very effectively. Then the water just didn't have the same fresh taste as with the Brita filter. We threw away the off brand and went back to Brita in less than a week, so it ended up costing us more money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Saves Money & Gets the Job Done I like this filter and I have used it for my Brita pitcher for wow about four years. I like that using a filter saves money and keeps me from using individual plastic bottles. The only thing I don't like about this filter is that it leaves the little black specks floating around but I know that that is how the water is filtered. The specks don't make in past the area where you place the water before its filtered but it does cause me to give the filter a good not an excellent rating.

What exactly is an Extended Service Plan?
An extended service plan is generally an extension of your original manufacturer's warranty. Most manufacturers warranty their products to be free from defects for up to one year from the date of purchase. This warranty virtually guarantees you that if your newly purchased product fails, the manufacturer will protect you from the high costs of replacement parts and labor necessary to repair your product. Extended service plans lengthen your product's coverage for up to an additional 60 months (5 years) to insure you get years of performance satisfaction from your newly purchased product.
How is this different than the manufacturer's warranty?
A manufacturer's warranty usually offers limited coverage for a limited time, with parts and labor carrying separate lengths of coverage. For example, a common manufacturer warranty of a product might cover a consumer for one full year on parts defects but only 90 days on the high cost of labor involved to change those parts. Extended service plans provide comprehensive, long term, even length coverage. This means that should your product fail within your plans coverage time frame, both parts and labor costs are covegrey.

Your other alternative is to call the toll-free number on your extended warranty card or email and have a qualified representative make this request for you with the information you will provide. Who will perform the service on my product?

Generally, the amount of a deductible is almost always proportional to the amount of the premium charged. In order to have a lower deductible, even as low as $0, the plan holder would generally have to agree to a higher premium. For those who want lower premiums, they must agree to a higher deductible. Our extended service plans carry a $0.00 deductible along with low premiums. This means that with an extended service plan there are no high upfront costs and they are committed to cover 100% parts and labor costs on any authorized claim.
When does my warranty start?
Depending on the type of coverage you own, an extended warranty begins at the conclusion of the shortest portion of the manufacturer’s warranty. If the manufacturer’s warranty was 90 day labor and 1 year parts, the extended warranty would begin on the 91st day and continue for the duration of the warranty period. All replacement, commercial and accidental plans begin on the date of purchase.
Why does my plan say "under $1000"?
Some plans carry a dollar value on them. This means that your product's purchase price, excluding tax, delivery and accessories is below the listed price on the contract. It's simply a classification based on the price of purchase of the product under warranty.
What does an accidental plan cover?
If you have added Accidental Coverage to your plan, this plan shall cover unintentional damages as a result of: impact, liquid damage or unintentional physical damage. Accidental Coverage does not cover intentional damages of any kind to the covered product or losses due to theft. Accidental Coverage does not cover willful damage, misuse, damage due to neglect, drops over 6 feet, fire damage or full immersion in water.

Accidental Coverage does not cover damage caused by the use of a product in a way the manufacturer never intended. Coverage for this plan shall begin 30 days after the date of purchase of the covered product.
